Days 11-16: Spokane and Seattle
We spent our most luxurious evening yet in Spokane, shelling out a bit more cash (than we did, you know, backpacking for free) for a nice hotel. Why? Why, our six-month wedding anniversary of course! Six most magical months.
Then it was off to Seattle! Since most people probably like pictures more than words, we thought we'd let pictures suffice here. The only thing we must say is that Cahoon hospitality is royal hospitality. No one ever felt more welcome to stay anywhere --- and only the boldest, most adventurous, most gypsy of spirits could be compelled to move on from that threshold. Even we ended up extending our stay to be twice as long as originally intended. Infinite thanks to BB and A!
The following from Pike Place Market, the Gum Wall, Alkai beach, and finally a brilliant 4th of July firework show over Lake Union.

| At Alkai beach --- the clouds looked just like a swarm of jellyfish! (a bloat of jellyfish? a herd? a school? a blight? a pride? perhaps a flock, since they're in the sky?) |

| Building a sand castle with the Cahoons at the beach --- not too successful this round |
